Monday: closed Tue-Wed: 9.30am-5.15pm Thursday: 9.30am-7.45pm Fri-Sat: 9.30am-5.15pm Sunday: 11am-4pm W| | | L Cheltenham Remembers World War One this autumn at The Wilson Gloucestershire's premier Art Gallery and Museum, the Wilson, hosts artist Robyn Woolston who has compiled a moving visual and aural commemoration of WW1 in The Listening Station:Cheltenham Remembers. As part of the exhibition, stories and conversations have been captured visually and aurally across the town. Tune into some of them at the exhibition showcasing iconic images from the period including protest placards and banners inspired by materials from the Wilson's own archive. There's also a rare opportunity to view the work A Relieved Platoon by artist Fred Roe as part of a wider exhibition about the end of the war At Last the Fighting Is Over. This was commissioned as a memorial of the war by the Cheltenham Corporation in 1920 and has been on display at the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum for many years. A web-based exhibition showing the Wilson Family Collection diaries and letters complements the event.
